Library Policies

1. Books which are checked out from the library are the responsibility of the student until they are returned to the library.Books which are lost or damaged must be paid for before the child is allowed to check out another book. Please keep books where younger siblings and pets cannot reach them.

2. Kindergarten through second grade students must return their books to the library on their class library day. Third through fifth grade students' books are due two weeks from the day they are checked out, not necessarily on their library day.

3. Beginning in third grade, fines are charged for books which are kept out past the due date. The fine is $.05 per book, per school day, and students are not allowed to check out another book until the overdue book is returned and the fine is paid.

4. Kindergarten through second grade students may check out one book at a time. Beginning in third grade, students may check out up to two books at a time. Any student may come to the library every day as permitted by his/her teacher to return books, pay fines, or check out a new book.
